About
Ryan Robert Minford is a film editor with a passion for storytelling through the art of post-production. His journey began in 2009 when he joined a high school film production class. With no one eager to take on editing, he stepped up—and never looked back. From that moment on, he has edited every film he's ever shot.
He honed his craft at Ringling College of Art + Design, making dozens of films as an undergraduate, and later refined his skills further in graduate school at ArtCenter College of Design. His dedication to the craft led him to take on his first feature film, The Cry, which he wrote, directed, and shot over the course of nine months. The next eleven months were spent in the editing room, where he embraced the challenge of shaping the story, problem-solving the limitations of the production, and executing what he sees as the final rewrite of any film—the edit.
Since then, Ryan has continued cutting across a diverse range of projects, including celebrity weddings, behind-the-scenes TV content, music videos, and commercials. He has also worked as a union assistant editor for companies such as RadicalMedia, Michael Bay’s 451 Media Group, T-Mobile, Apple, Honda, and Hallmark. Despite his varied experience, his passion remains in narrative filmmaking, and he seizes every opportunity to edit feature films.
His latest project, a feature film The Class Reunion, directed by Chazitear and starring Lil Rel Howery (Get Out, Free Guy) and Sarunas J. Jackson (HBO’s Insecure), is set for release later this year.
Ryan primarily cuts on Avid Media Composer but is also proficient in Premiere and Resolve. If you have a project in need of a dedicated editor, he'd love to connect and collaborate on your next film.
